Library books donated to Namibia

The Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation (LUX Development), donated library books, computers, electronic equipment and library furniture to the Ministry of Education, Namibia on 14 February 2008. The donated goods are earmarked for 11 schools in the Caprivi and Omaheke regions.  

The donation goods are valued at 200 000 EURO (approx, N$ 2 232 080). The 11 schools were selected by LUX Development in consultation with the Ministry’s Directorate of National Library and Archives Services (NLAS).  

The goods will only be delivered to the schools once the conditions of the libraries at the selected schools are assessed, then refurbished and furnished if necessary in order to ensure the safety of the books and the equipment.
