Creative Places Awards

Creative New Zealand,
04 March 2008, New Zealand

Creative New Zealand is currently reviewing its activities in order to align its future work to its Strategic Plan 2007-2010. As a result of the review, the Creative Places Awards have been discontinued.

Creative New Zealand's strategic priority New Zealanders are engaged in the arts is a commitment to providing New Zealanders with opportunities to participate in, and have access to arts in the community. Over the next few months Creative New Zealand will be evaluating how it can most effectively support community arts participation.

The Creative Places Awards were established in 1999 by Creative New Zealand, with the endorsement of Local Government New Zealand, to encourage and celebrate arts projects that enhance the social, economic and cultural wellbeing of their communities through the arts. In recent years the Awards also recognised individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the arts within the local government environment.
