Under the direction of the Public Affairs Manager (PN 7245), co-ordinate the activities of the Public Affairs Branch.
1. Support Australian cultural engagement in the UK, both external and internal to the High Commission, taking into account opportunities to promote Australian arts in the UK.
2. Develop a diverse cultural strategy in consultation with the High Commissioner, Public Affairs Manager and other High Commission staff.
3. Organise and facilitate the smooth running of cultural and general public affairs events at Australia House and across the UK.
4. Maintain and develop high level cultural contacts and partnerships in the UK.
5. Liaise with Australian government arts bodies as well as cultural institutions in the UK and Australia.
6. Represent the High Commission to support Australian cultural activities in the UK. Such activities often occur after standard business hours.
7. Manage the cultural projects budget. In consultation with the Public Affairs Manager determine which cultural projects should be perused and allocate resources appropriately.
