The Japanese Cultural Exchange Centre opened in Ha Noi yesterday.

At the opening, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the centre reflected the solid relationship between the two countries and preluded the commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam-Japan diplomatic relations.

Nhan said he hoped that the centre would serve as a bridge to facilitate cultural exchange between the two countries and become a welcoming place where Vietnamese could study and discuss Japanese culture.

"The centre will contribute to strengthening understanding, trust and ties between the two peoples," Nhan said.
