TMCA displaying works of art school professors

Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) is hosting an exhibition of artworks by masters teaching art at Tehran universities and colleges.

A collection of works by Aidin Aghdashlu, Mohammad Ehsaii, Parviz Tanavoli, Jalil Ziapur, Siavash Mahvis and Minu As’adi are put on display.

The Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for artistic affairs Mohammad-Hossein Imani Khoshkhu, TMCA curator Mahmud Shaluii, and a group of artists and students of art attended the opening ceremony last week.

Imani Khoshkhu was the first who made the opening speech and said that this exhibit created a good chance for all the masters to display their works.

He also stated, “I can imagine a good future for Iran’s visual arts and I hope it will reach its own high status in the country with a good management.”

He also announced that several festivals and exhibits are due to be held in other cities giving the artists living in small towns the hope to works harder and develop.

Shaluii also explained that this exhibit is a good workshop for the students to see artworks by their masters and gain experience.

Veteran artist Mehdi Hosseini expressed his happiness and said that this is the first time all the masters have exhibited their works under one roof.

The exhibit will run until November 10 at the museum located on North Kargar St., next to Laleh Park.
