Small grants programme officer
1. Introduction
This post is for a Small Grants Programme Officer in the Arts Development Department. The post holder will be responsible for the administration of the Council’s new Small Grants Programme which will offer grants ranging from £500 to £10,000 and which, in 2009/10, will have a budget of £450k. The main aim of this programme is to fund projects which involve people in their communities, bringing them together to enjoy a wide range of arts, sports, heritage, charitable, community, educational, environmental and health related activities.
In addition, the officer will work with community representatives to develop strategies for implementing community arts activity with groups not previously in receipt of Arts Council funds. A small budget (approx £50K) will be attached to this work.
2. Terms and Conditions
Salary Range £24,089 to £30,520 per annum
Pension Scheme The Council offers a contributory pension scheme operated through the Northern Ireland Local Government Officers Superannuation Committee.
Probationary Period The appointment will commence with a probation period of six months which may be terminated at a month’s notice by either side during the period.
Annual Leave Twenty five working days per annum. The leave year runs from
1st March to 28/29th February.
Hours of Business
Office Hours Flexi-Time
Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm 8.00am to 6.30pm
Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm 8.00am to 6.00pm
(including one hour for lunch every day)
The post holder must be willing and able to work outside the Arts Council’s normal office and flexi-time hours.
Office Location The post is based at the Arts Council’s headquarters, 77 Malone Road, Belfast.
