Festivals in Europe, by Anne-Marie Autissier looks at the booming of festivals throughout Europe and raises questions and analysis : How are festivals born, how do they develop? How do they balance local interaction and international cooperation? How do they economically, culturally or socially impact on their respective territories?

Written by fifteen researchers and cultural actors in the frame of the European Festival Research Programme (EFRP) initiated by Dragan Klaic, "Festivals in Europe" offers these analysis and storytellings by means of words and pictures, from Helsinki to Barcelona and from London to Zagreb.

Lecturer at the Institute of European Policies of the University of Paris VIII and editor of Culture Europe International, Anne-Marie Autissier is considered as one of the main specialists of European cultural policies, upon which she already published several books and articles.

238 pages + a picture booklet included inside.
