The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) is a dedicated statutory body set up for the planning, development and operation of the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) in Hong Kong. The WKCD will comprise 15 performing arts venues, a forward looking institution with museum functions focusing on 20th – 21st Century visual culture, an Exhibition Centre, piazza and other open space, transport facilities as well as retail, dinning and entertainment facilities.
The WKCDA is governed by a Board which is also the executive body of the WKCDA. The WKCDA is looking for an Executive Director (ED) to assist the Board in the Authority’s day to day operation for a period of two years pending the recruitment of a Chief Executive Officer. Primarily the role of the ED will be to assist in steering the planning and development of the WKCD including overseeing the preparation of a master development plan for the various arts and cultural facilities and related facilities, and the planning of the development and operation of the various facilities.
The ideal candidate is expected to possess -

- A recognised university degree;

- Over 20 years of managerial experience at senior level. Experience in planning, developing and managing large organisations including administration and finance; or overseeing large infrastructural projects would be an asset;

- Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of the Hong Kong situation, with the ability to appreciate the importance of arts and cultural development in Hong Kong;

- Proven leadership and organisational ability with excellent strategic planning skills and strong political acumen;

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and

- International exposure and exposure to arts and culture would be an asset.
