Cultural policies are the overarching definitions that a country assumes to guide the processes and actions in the cultural field, through common agreement and the active participation of the State, private organizations, civil society and community groups. Through this new cultural policy compendium the country is expected to creatively answer to the cultural needs of society.

“By the end of the year 2008 we will present the country the first cultural policy compendium, 30 in total, which will determine the principles, guidelines and strategies of cultural administration for the next years. This policies will become the guidelines for the National Culture System and will serve as a starting point to discuss, trough a participatory exercise with the sector, the Decennial Culture Plan 2010 – 2019”.
