Funding announced to restore some of Wales' historic buildings and new appointees to advisory body
Over £385,000 is to be shared amongst nine of Wales' most important historic buildings, Minister for Heritage Alun Ffred Jones has today announced.

The Welsh Assembly Government grants, ranging from £7,500 to £100,000, have been offered to carry out essential repairs and restoration work to these buildings across Wales.

One of the grant recipients is the iconic Transporter Bridge in Newport which has been offered £75,000 towards a scheme of works to conserve and repair the structure.

Grant of £100,000 is also offered for a second phase of work at the Former British Steel Offices, Ebbw Vale; the Listed grade II* offices are a very fine and rare survival of an industrial office complex.
