The Dominican Mirtha Olivares, an expert in cultural management, has just been elected Member of the Non-permanent Specialized Committees for Culture (CENPE), in the Organization of American States (OAS). He is the first Dominican to hold this position.

Known as a Cultural Projects Consultant, he was postulated for the position by the Ministry of Culture with support from the State Secretariat for Economic Planning and Development. Olivares selection was made in the assembly of the Permanent Executive Committee of the Council for Integral Development.
