Minister Urrutia discusses private support for culture

The journalist Romina de la Sotta interviewed the Minister of Culture, Paulina Urrutia, for the newspaper El Mercurio about her outlook on the private sector’s support to culture, mainly through the tax exemption that the Cultural Donations Law grants. She also talked about the Ministry’s contribution.

With regards to private support during the economic crisis, the Minister stated: “Financing the arts is not the same as stimulating culture” and revealed which are the disciplines that result more appealing to the private world. She also announced that the Council will spend most of its budget during the first semester to diminish the crisis impact.
