The Undersecretary for Cultural Heritage has launched a book entitled 'Actualización del Diagnóstico del Sector Artesanal de la República Dominicana' (Updated diagnostic for the Crafts Sector in the Dominican Republic) which is the result of research conducted among 527 producer-artisans spread over 31 provinces and the National District.
The book contains updated information on general data of individuals and companies in the crafts sector: locations, years in business, type of crafts they produce, raw materials used and their origin, handling equipment, culturally, exhibiting, or registration status of products and the main difficulties at present facing the handicrafts industry in the country.
This book contains updated information from a survey that aims to redefine the current profile of the producers of handicrafts and serve as a platform for their development.
