The Report of the Touring Experiment, A future for arts touring in Ireland 2009-2014, was presented to the Arts Council in September 2008. The Touring Experiment is an initiative of the Arts Council - a two year action research project designed to inform and shape future policy for touring in the Republic of Ireland.

The Arts Council is now keen to build upon the experience of the Touring Experiment by developing a new policy position which will guide how it supports touring in the coming years. This work is currently underway and it is anticipated that the new policy will be in place by July 2009.

Subject to confirmation, the Council will publish the Report and outline its new policy position at that time. Later in 2009, the Council intends to clarify existing and possible new arrangements regarding its support for touring in 2010 and beyond.
