The Europe of festivals

Culture Europe International,
19 May 2009, France

The festival boom throughout Europe araises questions and demands analysis:

- how are festivals born, how do they develop,

- how do they balance local interaction and international cooperation,

- how do they economically, culturally or socially impact on their respective territories?

Written by fifteen researchers and cultural professionals in the frame of the European Festival Research Programme (EFRP) initiated by Dragan Klaic, Festivals in Europe offers analysis and tells stories by means of words and pictures, from Helsinki to Barcelona and from London to Zagreb.

The Europe of festivals, crossing approaches from Edinburgh to Zagreb edited by Anne-Marie Autissier. Published by Culture Europe International and Les Editions de l’attribut, with the support of University Paris 8 Institute of European Studies and the Ministry for Culture and Communication (Delegation for Development and International Affairs).
