Photographs taken by 23 emerging photographers from 18 European and Asian countries will be showcased at an exhibition, entitled “Creative Economies”, open on June 19th at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi.

The exhibition, a result of the Asia-Europe Photographers‘ Forum 2009, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in May, looks at various ways in which Asian and European societies re-imagine and reflect on embedded economic systems.

These photographs explore creative means of sustainability through self-sufficient economies, creative communities and social cooperations.

The eleven-day exhibition, an effort from the participating photographers, including Vietnamese photographer Nguyen Thanh Hai, is preceded by a week of intensive dialogue and guidance from visiting professors, curators and photographers like Peter Bialobreski from Germany, who was known at last year’s workshop and exhibition, entitled “Mapping Invisible Cities”, in Hanoi.
