Youth Music Officer (fixed term post until 31 March 2010)
£22,457 - £27,873 per annum

The (YMI) Youth Music Initiative is a national programme that encourages and creates access to music making for all children and young people. 

As part of the YMI team you will research, develop, implement and modify funding schemes and pilot programmes to drive forward the strategic aims and objectives of the YMI but with particular responsibility for the following areas:

Formula Fund – annual funding to Scotland’s 32 Local Authorities and Jordanhill School
Access and Excellence Fund – for organisations with either a national or large geographical reach that are exemplar models of developing access and excellence for young people’s musical experiences and education.

You will also lead on the production of the annual P6 Target Report for the Scottish Government; Sounding Post, a networking event for key local authority stakeholders and representatives from the informal sector; continued development and implementation of an Early Years strategy; and assist the youth music initiative team with the continued development of the YMI youth music forums.

With a comprehensive knowledge of youth music in both the formal and informal education sectors you will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of project planning and delivery at a strategic level.

You will be an excellent communicator with sound financial and budgetary skills.
