Days of Culture of the Azerbaijan Republic closed in Turkmenistan

The ceremony of closing the Days of Culture of the Azerbaijan Republic in Turkmenistan was held at the Palace of Mukams of the National Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan. The closing ceremony brought together the cultural workers, members of the public organisations, foreign diplomats accredited to Turkmenistan, journalists, students and numerous admirers of Azerbaijani culture.

The large-scale action initiated by the leaders of two countries Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ilham Aliev turned into a big festival of friendship and good neighbourliness and highlighted the new aspects of relationships between two fraternal peoples, interpenetration of two cultures based on the common spiritual values.

Those taking part in the ceremony expressed deep gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev for the policy of large-scale international cooperation that contributed to the flourishing of the national cultures and fostered fruitful contacts among the cultural workers of two countries. It was noted that in the new historical conditions it was important to preserve the diversity of national cultures and create the conditions conducive to development and exchange of cultural and spiritual values. The Days of Culture of the Azerbaijan Republic in Turkmenistan would remain in memory of the participants for a long time warming them with cordiality and light of the hospitable Turkmen land.

The grandiose gala concert that brought together the famous opera artists, popular singers, folk dancing groups of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan on the stage of the Palace of Mukams was the final chord of the festival of friendship and art. The concert programme included the Azerbaijani and Turkmen songs and melodies about the native land, love and friendship. The artists performed the vocal parts from the opera “Sasenem and Garip”, the operetta “Arshin mal alan”, the compositions created by N. Halmamedov and U. Gajibekov, who had added the bright pages to the history of world musical culture.

The festival of Azerbaijan culture and art became an opportunity for the Turkmen people to get acquainted with music and fine art of the friendly country. In their turn, the guests visited the landmarks of the Turkmen capital and enjoyed the unique collections of the Main National Museum of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen Carpet National Museum.
