Meeting of the Asia/Pacific Network of Arts Education Observatories

UNESCO,
18 January 2010, Thailand

The Network, which is coordinated by the UNESCO Bangkok Office, was created in order to act as a clearinghouse for arts education, collecting, analysing, re-packaging and disseminating relevant resources.

It has currently five members, including Melbourne University (Australia), the Music Education Research Centre (Canterbury University, New Zealand), the National Institute of Education (Singapore), the Asia-Pacific Art Therapy Centre (Burapha University, Thailand), and the Inter-cultural Creative Education Observatory (ICEO) of the Hong-Kong School of Creativity (HKICC).

It is the first time that the Observatories meet together in Bangkok to fully discuss the future of the network and the contributions of the network to the Second World Conference on Arts Education, which will take place in Seoul on 25-28 May 2010.
