Under the authority of the Director of the Division of Cultural Expressions and Creative Industries and the direct supervision of the Chef of the Section of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the operational programme of activities required to implement the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2005). He/she requires a comprehensive knowledge of the Convention as well as of cultural policy and other issues addressed therein. He/she will act as a focal point for the activities of the main Convention organs including their statutory meetings. He/she will carry out the following duties:

• Statutory meetings of the Convention
– participate in statutory meetings as a member of the Secretariat of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2005) and in that capacity:
– draft the working documents and summary records of statutory meetings
– organise and prepare background documents for experts meetings
– foster and maintain relationships with the various stakeholders to the Convention in the preparation of statutory meetings and related activities

• Implementation of the operational guidelines
- contribute to the design and implementation of the system for periodic reports as well as provide technical assistance to Parties in the preparation of periodic reports as requested;
- facilitate the collection, sharing and exchange of information and good practices relating to the protection and promotion of cultural diversity, also online dissemination;
- provide support to in-country Contact Points established by the Convention
- contribute to the production of capacity building tools to be used in the field
