Twelve bodies and organizations will become part of the Ministry of Culture

(Andina). The Executive approved the process whereby twelve bodies and organizations will become part of the Ministerio de Cultura, directed by Juan Ossio. This process will end by the end of the year and will begin with the Instituto Nacional de Cultura (INC).

The incorporation, by means of absorption, of the INC will be completed on September 30, whereas the other organizations, currently ascribed to the Ministry of Education, will be added by 31 December 2010 through a supreme decree that was published today on the Legal Norms of El Peruano journal.

Among these are the National Institute for the Development of Andean, Amazonic and Afro-Peruvian People, Indepa), the Special Project Chan Chan Archaeological Complex and the Special Project Naylamp- Lambayeque.

Peru’s National Library, the Peruvian Broadcasting Institute IRTP, the Academia Mayor de la Lengua Quechua (Academy of Quechua Language) and the National Archives will also become part of the Ministry of Culture later on. This regulation was signed by the President of the Republic, Alan García Pérez, by the Head of Cabinet and Minister of Education, José Antonio Chang and the Minister of Economy and Finances, Ismael Benavides and the Minister of Culture, Juan Ossio.
