IFACCA’s board met in Madrid on Monday and Tuesday this week, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Spain.
Discussion focussed on such topics as:
The proposed 2011-2014 Strategic Plan – the draft Strategic Plan, developed over the past 12 months, was approved by the board and will be sent to all IFACCA members at the end of October for comment. The final version will be published in early December
The preliminary program for the 5th World Summit, co-hosted by IFACCA and the Australia Council, which will be held in Melbourne, Australia on 2-6 October 2011.
Bids for the 6th World Summit – three countries presented their bids to host the 6th World Summit on Arts and Culture in 2014. The board was very impressed with all three bids. The host will be announced at the close of the World Summit in Melbourne, in October 2011.
IFACCA’s 10th anniversary – IFACCA will be celebrating its 10th anniversary over the coming 12 months and will undertake a number of initiatives to mark the occasion.
The next board meeting will be held in April 2011.
