IV Meeting of World Heritage Managers in Spain

Ministry of Culture,
04 November 2010, Spain

This edition will address issues such as mobility, accessibility and cultural value of World Heritage Sites.

Segovia opens today at the Fourth Meeting of Managers of Spanish World Heritage sites, which will run until tomorrow. Spain, with 42 properties inscribed on the World Heritage List, is the second country in number of goods within this select group. For this reason, since 2007, these meetings are held for managers of the assets of the rich and varied cultural and natural heritage of our country.

The call for this year will focus on mobility, accessibility and cultural value of World Heritage Sites. This is a subject that affects all kinds of goods declared, and it should be considered particularly in terms of their different characteristics and peculiarities, historical sites, monuments and buildings, groups and archaeological basins, rock art, cultural routes, cultural landscapes, national parks or mixed goods.

The Ministry of Culture and the city of Segovia have collaborated and supported this meeting, which coordinates the team of heritage experts from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
