IFACCA attends IGC on 2005 Convention

IFACCA Executive Director, Sarah Gardner, has this week attended the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Committee (IGC) on the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in Paris.
 
Discussion at the meeting focussed on: the progress of ratifications of the Convention; draft operational guidelines on exchange, analysis and dissemination of information; appointing public persons to promote the Convention;  operational guidelines on information sharing and transparency; and draft operational guidelines on education and public awareness; Implementation of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity.

During the week, Sarah will also meet with UNESCO to discuss the proposed international database of cultural policies, and will meet with members of the international steering group.
