According to Statistics Finland's Time Use Survey attendance of cultural events has increased in the 2000s.  During the past decade, the share of the population who attend cultural events has grown from 76 to 83%. Differences in cultural participation have narrowed between population groups.
 
The most popular cultural events are the cinema and concerts. Photography is the most popular cultural hobby.
