This consultancy will focus on the final activity of the CMPP component which consists of a sub-regional workshop, the production of a tool kit on cultural policy monitoring and evaluation, and the production of a cultural statistics/indicators tool kit (both tool kits might be done jointly). The workshop will provide a platform for evaluating the CMPP process in each of the six countries, and for proposing how to monitor the policy implementation process. It will also be an opportunity for countries to exchange best practices, challenges and discuss next steps. Countries will notably be asked to use this workshop to review the CMPP process and to exchange draft policies and to discuss their implementation plans, including monitoring and evaluation. They will also be asked to present their cultural indicators which will assist with monitoring and evaluation. The consultant will be expected to draw on the cultural indicators developed by the national consultants who, as part of the CMPP process were tasked with developing cultural indicators appropriate to their context.
Additionally the workshop will flow into a cultural statistics meeting which is partly funded by UNESCO Institute of Statistics, and will be hosted at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS). The consultant will be asked to take part in this meeting also as a means of deriving additional information for the policy and cultural statistics/indicators tool kit(s).
