The approaches to fulfilling the tasks set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the April 8 enlarged government meeting to cultural and media professionals were put on the agenda of meeting held at the Ministry of Culture and broadcasting.
As was reported, speaking at the enlarged government meeting about the work done in the first quarter of the current year and the priority issues to be addressed in the near future, the Turkmen leader urged the heads of the cultural sector to enhance its role in implementing social and economic reforms and Turkmen mass media to cover fully the events and grandiose changes taking place throughout the country and outstanding accomplishments of the epoch, provide information support and widely promote the achievements gained by Turkmenistan in the year of the 20th anniversary of independence.
This meeting brought together the heads of the cultural and media sectors, the Turkmen Publishing Service, the self-supporting editorial association and cultural workers, who discussed the priority actions plan to fulfill the tasks set by the Turkmen leader.
Those speaking at the meeting emphasized that on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov profound attention was paid to consistent and steady development of mass media, which played a critical role in promoting democratic processes, boost political and civil activity of citizens and actively involve them in the changes taking place throughout the country.
Underscoring the topicality of the tasks set by the Turkmen leader, the meeting participants emphasized that creative search, original decisions and new approaches needed to be used by cultural workers and journalists, who played a significant role in forming the ideology of the epoch of new Revival.
The meeting participants were unanimous that the vast opportunities for creative and professional growth of cultural workers and realization of their artistic abilities were opened up nowadays. Employing this potential should also contribute to effective fulfillment of the important tasks set by the Turkmen leader, including to cover fully the ongoing positive changes in the Turkmen society, keep the readers informed of the progressive reforms taking place in Turkmenistan and promote the achievements and accomplishments of our country so that the advancement of the Turkmen people along the path of progress would be stepped up through collating the greatness of the assigned tasks with the achievements gained.
A focus of the meeting agenda was the preparations for the large-scale celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan independence and reflection of the glorious way made by the country and achievements and victories of the Turkmen people in new art works, series of TV and radio programmes and publications that would use a creative approach to comprehending our reality to comply with the spirit and requirements of modern times, glorify the ideals of the new historical epoch, arouse the pride of the people for their Motherland, contribute to patriotic, spiritual and moral education of Turkmen youth and enhance the international prestige of the Turkmen state.
