In 2010, the support for artistic activities by the Arts Council of Finland (ACF)1 was alto-gether € 30.8 million. The support was allocated as grants, subsidies, prizes and salaries of artist professors and regional artists. The support granted by National Art Councils2 (NAC) was € 26.5 million and by Regional Arts Councils (RAC) € 4.3 million3. In addition, Regional Arts Councils financed projects for promoting the arts by € 2.5 million. All in all, a total sum of over € 33 million was allocated through the system of arts councils as a support and promotion for the arts.
