The deadline to submit projects to apply for 28 grants that amount to a total of COP 545 million is 17 June.
• Support to professional organizations with a wide experience in theatre. 23 grants that amount to COP 395 million will support Colombian theatre companies, with 12 years or more of legal life and that do not have a venue of their own, to guarantee their continuity. These grants will finance their management activities.
Companies interested should present their action plan and budget for the year 2011, including activities related to artistic creation, performing seasons, staging, playwriting, tours, promotion strategies, education (artists and audiences) and appropriation of the performing arts.
• Support to theatre networks: 5 grants that amount to COP 30 million each, will provide financial support to networks of Colombian organizations that have as their objective to strengthen theatrical practice in the country.
Theatre organizations with at least one year of legal life that act as representatives of the network’s members.
For the purpose of this grant a network will be conceived as a dynamic structure made up of Colombian and/or foreign organizations and/or bodies that interact to achieve a common objective according to well defined rules that respond to its general structure and research areas. Technical, technological and human tools are used to connect members and allow them to share and improve their resources.
