Created to strengthen theatre appreciation in Mexico, the Audience School will carry out its next sessions on Monday 13 and 27 June in Centro Cultural del Bosque (CCB).
The theatre critic Bruno Bert will provide the necessary tools to improve the enjoyment and comprehension of theatre in a sparkling and profound manner, as the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA) explained in its communiqué.
Our aim is to enhance the cultural, emotional and intellectual horizon of the audience by instilling in them critical thinking and exigency towards the theatrical performance and quality of the creation. Thus, they will embark on an endless journey: the appreciation of theatrical arts.
The Audience School will analyse this month two theatre pieces, the first by Biljana Srblijanovic and the second one by Alberto Lomnitz.
The first performance is ‘Historias de familia’ (Family Stories), on Monday 13, that deals with human relations and reflects the violent reality the country is going through. ‘El funcionario bueno’ (The Fair Civil Servant), on 27 June, develops a plot filled with political satire.
Aaron Hernández Farfán, Director of ‘Lluna’, stated that ‘theatre is also an endless and vital process’ when referring to this program.
He also stated: ‘How many times actors, a long time after the season of a theatre piece has ended dream about or discover keys to the character they played in the past? In this same respect, to be able to build a bridge that communicates with the audience is a priceless privilege’.
This program is aimed at people that are fond of theatre and that wish to deepen their knowledge and exchange critical opinions.
