A two-day conference focusing on further optimization of the activity of Turkmen museums was conducted in Turkmenabat. The scientific forum brought together workers of culture and art from all regions of the country.
The venue for the conference was the Lebap Velayat local history museum. The ceremony of opening the new magnificent building of the museum was attended by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During two days conference participants exchanged views on the measures to carry out the systematic work on collection, promotion and propagation of national museum values, the use of advanced technologies in the museum activity, including for restoration of artefacts by Turkmen specialists at the museum laboratories in the country. The forum agenda focused on the issues related to thorough study of the practices of world’s largest museums, establishment of wide professional contacts with them, organisation of exhibitions and contests involving Turkmen museums. Forum participants considered the possibilities to hold meetings and cultural actions with the participation of cultural and art workers on a regular basis.
