His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Chairs today Thursday, October 6, Their Highnesses and Excellencies the ministers of culture in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States in the framework of their 17nth meeting , in the Yas hotel in the capital Abu Dhabi.
Participates in the meeting HE Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information of Saudi Arabia, and HH Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Salem Mthieb Ahmed Al Azena , the Minister of Information and National Council for Culture and Science in Kuwait, and HH Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage in Qatar.
Their Excellencies the deputies of the ministries of culture also participate in the meeting and managers of cultural departments in the six member states of the Council, HE Dr. Abdul Latif Rashid Al Zayani Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, and members of delegations.
Their Highnesses the ministers honor 12 creatives from the Gulf, two creatives from each of the six member states of the Council, and this honoring is part of a cultural joint program, approved by the ministers of culture in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council as part of the implementation of the strategic culture of the GCC countries.
The meeting stems from the importance the leaders of the Cooperation Council for the gulf area puts on the cultural field and cultural development; specially after the establishment of the Council and their directs to upgrade the joint GCC work, by raising the level of qualified national cadres, and the proper handling of the plans for the modern cultural development and keeping up with the latest developments in this area; to reflect the civilized developments witnessed by the GCC countries in various spheres of life.
The officials responsible for the culture in the GCC countries meet to exchange opinions and advices on cultural affairs and to adopt a perception which translates the aspirations of the GCC leaders, to build bridges of cultural cooperation between the Gulf countries and to explore the future from the emphasis on cultural identity and consolidating it among the GCC countries and to introduce the culture of the GCC countries outside the region through the cultural presence at the global level.
Their Excellencies the deputy ministers had preceded the meeting of their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Culture conducted a series of preparatory meetings, which ended yesterday in preparation to put it in front of their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers at their meeting today.
