Professional Development Opportunity for dancers and choreographers

Arts Council of Northern Ireland,
09 November 2011, Northern Ireland

The Arts Council’s Arts and Older People’s programme is helping to support a professional development opportunity for dancers and choreographers working with older people.

Cassie Meador (Artistic Director) and Shula Strassfield (Resident Artist/Healthy Living Coordinator) of Dance Exchange (formerly Liz Lerman Dance Exchange) will lead four days of professional development for Irish based choreographers and dancers at the invitation of the Bealtaine Festival. www.danceexchange.org

This is an opportunity for companies or individuals to reflect on practice to date, share experience or concerns and consider future explorations in a supportive environment. The week is intended to inspire and support continued experimentation, encouraging Irish artists to remain at the forefront of international developments. Sessions will combine physical and intellectual activity framed within a Critical Response process.
