Benzo Fernando Sáinz, new undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport

The Cabinet today approved the appointment of Fernando Benzo Sáinz as the new under-secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

Born in Madrid on January 18, 1965. Married with three children. He graduated in law and is a member of the Senior Civil Service. After beginning his career in management in the Ministry of Justice, as a director of international judicial cooperation, he has held various positions in the Ministry of Interior between 1996 and 2001: advisor to the Cabinet of Minister, Director of the Office of the Secretary of State for Security and Technical Secretary-general. In 2001 he was appointed director general of the State Society and Prisons Equipment.

In 2002, he held the post of managing director of the Victims of Terrorism Foundation, where he remained until 2007. After joining a private company since 2009 and until now, has been an advisor to the Popular Party in Parliament.
