Jorge González Sainz takes over as chief of staff for the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport

Jorge Sainz González, a graduate in Economics and Law and Doctor of Economics, has today taken over as Chief of Staff for the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

Sainz González, who took office after serving as task adviser in the Cabinet of the Ministry of Education, for the Community of Madrid, said that he values ​​more than ever the confidence that the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport has deposited in him, by giving him the position in a context of strong economic uncertainties. He also expressed his gratitude to his closest friends and to the Minister of Education of the Community of Madrid, Lucía Fígar for all the support he has received in his career.

For his part, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, José Ignacio Wert, said that Sainz has highlighted the "versatility of his knowledge and experiences," especially in the field of new information technologies and communication, as well as in applied economics. In these areas, Wert said: "We have much to do and Spanish citizens are watching us expectantly."

During the inauguration ceremony, other authorities also attended among them, the Secretary of State for Culture, José María Lassalle, and Under-secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, Fernando Benzo.
