The Ministry (of Culture) organized the second session in "Directing and cinematography"

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development in cooperation with the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai, yesterday Sunday, January 15, launched a specialized course in "directing, and cinematography," which runs until 30 of this month, at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai.
HE Bilal Budur Assistant Undersecretary for Culture and the Arts, at the opening events of the session of this event said that this specialized event in the field of cinema comes to translate a set of strategic objectives of the Ministry (2011-2013), including support for cultural activities and raise cultural awareness in the UAE, and to enhance the art movement and the preservation of UAE's non-material heritage, by supporting and sponsoring talented and creative people, as well as the promotion of integration and coordination with public and private sectors and building effective partnerships.

The course was held in the presence of Walid Al Zaabi, Head of Culture and Heritage in the Ministry and a number of members of the Culture and Science Association, including Chancellor Ibrahim Bou Meliha , Mr Ali Obaid, Dr. Saeed Hareb, Sultan bin Saqr Al Suwaidi, and Dr. Salah Al Qassim members of the Board of Directors of Culture and Science Association, and the presenter of the course, Dr. Hesham Gamal El-Din Professor at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo.

Al Bdour said that the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development is used to conducting a number of workshops for young people to know what is new in the art world, and its commitment to provide the appropriate atmosphere for young UAE creators to elevate their tools and skills, which they are keen to achieve, in addition to putting them on the right track in a creative field such as cinema. He pointed out that the course is a continuation of another course set up by the ministry in cooperation with the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai in July 2011, which dealt with Lighting and cinematography, and was presented by Dr. Hisham Gamal.

He pointed out that the audience of this course which reached 50 participants from specialists and talented students in the field of media and films emphasizes the gains and benefits achieved by the ministry and the youth from the course.

Sultan bin Saqr Al Suwaidi, speaking on behalf of  the culture and science Association, that the symposium is honored to host programs and cultural activities in collaboration with the ministry, especially in the field of cinema, pointing out the opening of a cinema club in the Association which screened last week the first of its films.

He added that interest in the cinema and the performing arts stems from their role in strengthening the communication between the people and increasing the sense of beauty and knowledge of human life.
On his turn, Dr. Hesham Jamal, who was previously assigned by the Ministry of Culture to conduct several specialized technical courses, stressed hi happiness about the interest of the UAE youth to the value of the artwork and its artistic and creative importance in today's world as the Art of Filmmaking became one of the most important tools of communication and influence, which can promote the Nations.
