A meeting focusing on the tasks set to the cultural sphere and the mass media was held at the Palace of Mukams of the National Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan.
The heads of cultural institutions, cultural and art workers, journalists, renowned poets and writers, composers, representatives of theatres, museums, libraries, cultural centres, cinematographers, teachers and students of cultural educational institutions took part in the meeting. They discussed the approaches to developing the national culture and art in the new historical epoch.
The President of Turkmenistan says cultural and art workers are to fulfil the very important tasks to promote the rich heritage, maintain the unique artistic traditions of the nation and to create new works in the spirit of modern times preserving the originality of Turkmen culture. The Turkmen leader underlines the importance of raising professionalism of cultural workers and intensifying their activity in the spirit of the lofty aims of the new historical period in the fate of the country and enhancing its reputation worldwide as the state with the highly developed information society, firm spiritual principles and democratic values.
Speaking at the conference cultural and art workers, scientists and journalists focused on the critical role and contribution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to promoting the national culture as a state policy priority, creating the conditions conducive to the fruitful creative and intellectual activity, modernizing the material and technological basis of cultural institutions and training specialists for this sphere and encouraging young talents.
Underscoring the timeliness of the tasks set by the Turkmen leader, the participants placed emphasis on the importance of creative search, innovative solutions and new approaches for their activity. It was emphasized that cultural and art workers would return new works glorifying the ideals of the present epoch, contributing to patriotic, spiritual, moral and aesthetic education of youth and arousing the people’s pride in their Motherland to the Turkmen leader’s call to devote their inspiration and talent to the creative interpretation of our life.
The meeting participants were unanimous that the Turkmen society was entering the new historical epoch as politically strong and mature, being aware of their mission and enjoying the national leader’s support and trust as it had been illustrated by the presidential election and its outcomes.
Expressing deep gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his active support, the meeting participants assured that they would apply every effort, knowledge and skills to fulfil the Turkmen leader’s recommendations and instructions to bring the national culture up to a higher level and mark the new epoch with unprecedented enthusiasm and achievements that would embody the unity and solidarity and the tremendous creative potential of the Turkmen people.
After the meeting was concluded, cultural workers and artists performed a concert on the stage of the Palace of Mukams demonstrating that the source of talents in the blessed Turkmen land was inexhaustible.
