IFACCA's Executive Director, Sarah Gardner, was in Bahrain last week to attend the 2nd Forum on Festivals in Arab Countries and moderated a session on Festivals and City Development.
Opened by the Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Sheikha Mai Al Khalifa, the conference was attended by festival organisers and government representatives from countries such as Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt as well from Europe and North America.
The conference was jointly organised by the Arab Administrative Development Organisation (ARADO), under the League of Arab States, and held to coincide with the opening of the Spring of Culture festival.
