Can you help? Policies and support for design

IFACCA,
07 June 2012, Finland

IFACCA and the Arts Council Finland invite you to respond to a short survey on how arts councils and ministries of culture support and/or fund design.

In June 2012, IFACCA will hold a series of meetings in Helsinki, Finland, in partnership with the Arts Council of Finland (see below). Helsinki is the 2012 World Design Capital, a designation that provides a distinctive opportunity for cities to feature their accomplishments in attracting and promoting innovative design, as well as highlight their successes in urban revitalisation strategies. The World Design Capital is an initiative of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid).

In order to find out more about how different countries support design, IFACCA and the Arts Council are conducting a short survey. The results of the survey will be the basis for discussion during one of the sessions of the IFACCA Researchers' Meeting in June, and may also be published as a short research paper on the IFACCA website.

We have already received inputs to the survey from 10 countries but if you would like to provide your perspectives please complete the survey which you will find here:

We invite your responses to the survey by next Monday 11 June.

Members of IFACCA’s European Chapter; researchers from IFACCA member organisations; and the WorldCP International Working Group will all meet in Helsinki, Finland, in the final week of June. The 11th Annual Assembly of experts and editors of the Council of Europe/ERICarts Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe will also be held to coincide with these meetings http://www.culturalpolicies.net/web/index.php   .
