Meeting also brought together members from different areas of the Brazilian culture sector .

On 20 September, the Culture Minister Marta Suplicy met with representatives of the civil society and digital culture in Brasília. The meeting aimed to give a warm welcome to the Minister, to foster dialogue between the representatives of the various culture areas and the Ministry of Culture and to discuss suggestions as regards the challenges for culture.

In her opening speech, Marta Suplicy said that one of the hallmarks of her administration will be the revolution in the use of Internet tools and he media, and she expects the help of the sector in gaining a bold and innovative management. "We will continue the good programs, but we will also look for new ones. This is the challenge of this century.”

After the opening speech of the Culture Minister, Pablo Capilé, one of the founders of the Off-Axis Circle, reaffirmed the importance of the Lula legacy for culture.

"The management was essential to build the culture of dialogue, to create local, state and national conferences on culture, which are gatherings between the civil society and the government to build new public policies for culture. Because of this, all Brazilians can think of culture and contribute as citizens to the in the ability of culture to represent the Brazilian identity”, said Capilé.

The participants thanked the opportunity to dialogue with the minister and reaffirmed the will to work together during this term. Among the challenges proposed are the full operation of the Points of Culture in Brazil, the conduct of the Regulatory Framework, which is in the National Congress, and expanding the Living Culture program, which has become a model throughout Latin America.

The minister was applauded when she said that the Points of Culture "have to be the hallmark of my administration.”
