Nordic Cool 2013. This is the title of a major 4-week cultural festival in Washington, D.C., featuring art and culture from the frozen North. The festival will begin on February 19, 2013 and take place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, one of the most prominent cultural centres in the United States. A great many Danish artists have been invited to participate.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., has invited over 700 artists from the five Nordic countries - as well as from Greenland, the Faeroe Islands, and Åland - to participate in Nordic Cool 2013, a major cultural event at the Center from February 19 to March 17, 2013.

The focus will be on the Performing Arts, Music, Film, Literature, Design, Architecture, Crafts, and Nordic food.

There will also be a number of activities in the form of seminars and presentations across genres that will explore common themes that inspire Nordic culture.

"The Kennedy Center has a long tradition of mounting festivals of international arts and culture, but this is the first time we have delved so deeply into the rich culture of the Nordic region," stated Kennedy Center President Michael M. Kaiser. "We look forward to watching Washington immerse itself in the vibrant arts of the region"

In the end of November 2012 the full programme for the festival was published:
