The History Committee of the French Ministry of Culture has released a collection of texts gathered and presented by
Philippe Poirrier, 'La politique culturelle en débat. Anthologie, 1955-2012'.
The intention of this anthology is to set out the meaning of the cultural policies conducted in France during the last 50 years. The selected method consists of giving prominence to the debates raised by the policies promoted by Public authorities.
The selection of the 60 texts gathered into the brochure allows readers to perceive the evolution of the selling points that have slowly created the legitimacy of a public policy on culture. It also aims at grasping the general meaning of the cultural policy, without going - except for sufficiently significant exceptions - into the detail of the different sectoral policies.
