1st edition of Al-Asmakh International Arts Symposium concludes

Al-Asmakh International Arts Symposium was concluded yesterday, Wednesday 20 March 2013 at the Palace Hall of Wyndham Grand Regency. The symposium was organized by Al-Asmakh Group Holding and Wyndham Grand Regency with the participation of 23 artists from Qatar, Sudan, Sweden, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, Italy, India, Bangladesh, Syria, Ukraine, Holland, Morocco and Iraq.

Hassen Ibrahim Al-Asmakh, vice-president of Al-Asmakh Holding has honored the artist Mohamed al-Ateeq Al-Dusari, General Coordinator of the symposium in addition to the participating artists. The inaugural ceremony included an exhibition showcasing the different works made during the period between 14 and 20 March.

For his part, HE Mr. Mubarak Bin Nasser Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage delivered a speech during the ceremony in the presence of the Business man Ibrahim Al-Asmakh through which he hailed and stressed the importance of the event as it encourages dialogue between cultures and promotes the private sector’s participation in the development process of the State of Qatar.

HE Mr. Mubarak extended the greetings of HE Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage and stressed the ongoing support of the Ministry of Culture to these events which represent an appreciated contribution of the private sector to the State’s development.

Besides, Hassen Ibrahim Al-Asmakh also delivered a speech through which he indicated that the artistic event is an opportunity to raise people’s cultural awareness in Qatar, and that it contributes to strengthen the artistic structure of the State of Qatar as well as its economic, cultural and political development.
