The Information, Communications and Culture Ministry has always encouraged the publishing of books and journals portray the country's arts, culture and heritage for future reference by the young generation.
Deputy Minister of Information, Communications and Culture, Datuk Maglin Dennis D'Cruz said it was important for a country to retain its unique heritage at all times.
"Heritage is something that the whole population of a country must be proud of and must be retained, analyzed and studied from time to time because it will an important reference for the future generation.
"The publishing of books and journals by academics would ensure that the young generation can value such references," he told reporters after launching the Citra Karya Aswara books and journals published by Akademi Seni dan Budaya Kebangsaan (ASWARA), here, Monday.
