Vietnam and Cambodia boost cooperation in culture and fine arts

On March 27, in the headquarters of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), Minister Hoang Tuan Anh had the meeting with Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Him Chhem.

The meeting aims to discuss how to boost cooperation in culture and fine arts between Vietnam and Cambodia in 2013 and the subsequent years.

At the meeting, Minister Hoang Tuan Anh has proposed to the Minister Him Chhem on orientations for cooperation between the two sides in the future, with specific content such as:  supporting the building of a Vietnamese cultural center in Cambodia; the opening of fine-arts camps to demonstrate the friendship between the two countries;  holding a Cambodian cultural week in Vietnam 2013, etc.

Minister Tuan Anh told that cultural and fine-arts schools under his ministry will provide Cambodian students with scholarships besides those granted by the Vietnamese government.

Minister Him Chhem also suggested Vietnam to create conditions for his students, experts to practice, learning and exchange of experience in renovating temples, towers in Vietnam.
The end of the meeing, ministers of two countries agreed that this year, the two sides will continue their coordination in organising cultural and fine arts exchanges among the two countries’ bordering provinces.
