On 11-12 April, the IFACCA Board met in Chile at the invitation of the Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes (CNCA). The meeting, held in Valparaíso on Thursday, and Santiago on Friday, offered board members the opportunity to visit the venues for the 6th World Summit, and to review planning and preparations. In addition, the meeting covered a number of key topics including:
- IFACCA’s research program – particularly ecological sustainability; artist residencies; and a background paper on the theme of the World Summit
- The development of a good practice guide for arts advocacy; and a guide to establishing arts councils
- Governance issues: the board also approved the audited financial report for 2012, the annual risk analysis, and membership fees
Board members noted their great satisfaction with the progress of Summit preparations, and look forward to joining other IFACCA members and colleagues in Santiago in January 2014!
