With a unanimous vote in the Senate and a large majority in the House, the New Cultural Donations Law was approved yesterday.

The main objective of the new law, articulated by Minister of Culture Luciano Cruz-Coke, is to increase civil society participation in the cultural development of Chile.

With 31 votes in favor and none against in the Senate, and 84 votes in favor and 1 against in the House, today approved new Cultural Grants Act, which seeks to unlock the operational mechanisms of regulation for the private can donate through this tax exemption. The main changes relate to: new donors, most beneficiaries, better control, more lead time and marketability of the projects funded by the bill.

"This historic reform will mean a huge leap for culture and heritage in our country, strengthening the participatory role of civil society in cultural development, opening new avenues of funding to culture, so that everyone who wants to donate, has no excuse, but many incentives to do so, "said Culture Minister Luciano Cruz-Coke.
