'Mi Sangre Foundation', founded by the Colombian musician Juanes, and the World Bank signed today an agreement to broaden their partnership that intends to promote peace through education and the arts, an initiative that could be implemented in other countries of the region.

This partnership was signed over a year ago and, according to the artist, has had satisfactory results that benefit children and youth from the regions of Antioquia, Bolívar, Córdoba and Sucre, in Colombia, all affected by armed conflict.

“I created ‘Mi Sangre Foundation’ seven years ago as a way of promoting change and peace-building in Colombia through education and the arts, given my strong desire to build a different country” were Juanes’ words.

According to Gloria Grandolini, World Bank’s Director for Colombia and Mexico, the objective of the second phase of this partnership is to deepen the strategies that have been implemented so far that could be also applied in countries of Central America.
