The Ministry of Culture launched the Digital Reading Network of the Dominican Republic, which seeks to foster the relationship with digital texts and encourage reading in an age where technology plays an important role.

Valentín Amaro, offial of the institution, gave 50 digital tablets to the same number of children and young people who belong to literary circles in different provinces of the country, to promote the direct relationship with books in all its aspects.

These electronic devices have a digital library with hundreds of specialized texts and world classics as "The Bible", "The Koran", "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes; "Chronicle of a Death Foretold" by Gabriel García Márquez, and " Cuentos escritos antes, durante y después del exilio," by Juan Bosch, among others.

Amaro said that these tablets should be used in each of the meetings of Digital Reading Network, and said that the children to take good care of them and exchange books with their friends.

To keep updated of everything that happens with this network there will be a Facebook page as social networks represent an important factor in interpersonal relationships today and can promote books and reading.
Young people who are part of the network have a responsibility to read the books they have on their tablets, then discuss them and analyze them in physical or digital group, either through the fanpage or by any other means it is enabled.
