On 27 and 28 August 2014, the Anna Lindh Foundation organized a meeting with a number of experts from different Arab countries in the fields of; Arts and Culture, Communication and Civil Society Development at the Swedish Institute of Alexandria. The group of Young experts gathered in order to discuss some important topics related to the development of the “Arts for Change Programme”, in response to one of the recommendations of the capacity building activity “Arts for Change” that was held in Amman, Jordan in March 2014, as well as to contribute to the upcoming online Guide on “Youth in Local Dialogue” that will be launched soon. Gemma Aubarell, Head of the Programme and Operations Unit at ALF emphasized during the meeting on the importance of paying attention to the potential of Urban spaces as spaces for Dialogue and expression using Arts. A message that most of the participants of the meeting have shared through interesting discussions that resulted in various recommendations and ideas to be tackled during the Dawrak Encounter “Moultaqa” taking place in December 2014 in Alexandria.
